Increasingly activists are turning to the internet to connect and it is changing the way we organize. In the past it was difficult for people running busses to connect with people from outside of there area. Now it is possible for an organization to post a bus ticket for sale on a website and have anyone statewide buy it. This allows us to fill more buses and gives our riders more payment options.
Set up a paypal merchant account. You will need to give paypal your credit card info along with bank account info. This level of account will allow you to buy and sell, not only to paypal members but it will allow you except credit and debit cards from non-members.
Create a buy it now button, go to the merchant tools section and then click on the create a buy it now button option. Follow the step by step instructions; do not encrypt your button because that will make it harder to post online. Then copy the code and paste it onto a webpage.
Make sure to figure the 3% fee into your price, if you want to get $75.00 for the seat, you will have to charge $78.00 in order to get all your money.
You can also e-mail the buy it now button to anyone and all they have to do is click on the button in their e-mail.
